| Author | Joseph Doyle |
| Condition | New |
| Cover Type | Softback |
This work examines in some detail the Kilkenny schools where there was evidence of cooperation in the area of establishment and management during the first forty years of the National School System, especially in schools where there was landlord patronage. But it also brings the reader through events at national level, for the most part a conflict, on the one hand, between the Roman Catholic hierarchy under the leadership of Archbishop Paul Cullen, and, on the other, the Commissioners of National Education.’.
